The team onboard Calypso are the heart and soul of the boat. Their energy as a crew is contagious and makes for a fun and welcoming atmosphere for guests. The team is solid, all staying together from previous years with some crew members being together for over 4 years. It's hard to find a team dynamic that competes.

Captain Ian has been the captain of Calypso for 6 years now and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry.
Ian has been sailing since a young age, but his first career was in the British Fire Service, where he served in the West Midlands, and Hereford and Worcester Brigades, eventually leaving after 9 years as a Brigade Instructor.
Since 1999 he has worked in the yachting industry, spending a lot of this time teaching others, and delivering yachts, both sail and power.
Ian’s passion for teaching led him to be invited to become an Examiner for the Royal Yachting Association, and to be the Author of the RYA Essential Navigation and Safety Course, and the accompanying handbook.
To date Ian has done 29 Atlantic crossings and One Indian Ocean Crossing, and accumulated over 250,000 sea miles all over the world.
As we enter Ian's sixth season as Captain onboard Calypso 1 he has been responsible for five successful back to back charter seasons, with season six ready to go.
Ian and his lovely wife Lia live in France with their two beautiful sons, Filipe and Lewis.

Jordan came from a commercial shipping background and undertook his 3.5 year apprenticeship with RB Shipping. However during his commercial time he noticed the appeal of yachting and decided to take the leap and join the industry. This will be Jordan's third season keeping Calypso running smoothly.
Jordan has a passion for scuba diving and all water sports in general, as well as adventures sports such as snowboarding. It's safe to say he is a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
Jordan is behind all of the amazing drone footage we have and is looking forward to another fun and successful charter season onboard Calypso.

Age: 37
Nationality: Irish
James has over 10 years in the yachting industry and this will be his second season onboard Calypso.
He was born in the west of Ireland and has always been passionate about the sea.
James is now based in Cannes with his lovely wife who is also in the yachting industry.
James is a keen sports enthusiast and likes to stay fit and active. During his free time he likes to travel and discover new countries with his wife.

Age: 56
Nationality: British
Simon has spent his entire career in hospitality, working in restaurants and bar management for Disney for many years. He then became a director for a reputed Parisian restaurant company. Simon then went back to England to open a restaurant with his wife in his hometown of Scarborough.
After moving back to France in 2021 Simon joined the yachting industry as an onboard chef.
He has a wide and varied knowledge of most cuisines and enjoys preparing and sourcing fresh, seasonal and local produce whenever possible. He now lives in Antibes with his lovely wife Valerie, and their two daughters, fluent in French . His interests include gastronomy, wines and spirits, popular culture, popular music football and F1. With 2 on Calypso already under his belt, Simon is looking forward to another great season.

Daphne is born and raised in The Netherlands and followed into her grandfather, uncle, and fathers’ footsteps when she joined, and graduated, Hotel Management school.
After graduation she has worked for several Luxury five-star hotels in Amsterdam and started her yachting career with Calypso 4 years ago.
Daphne enjoys all things outdoor, travelling, spending time with her family and cruising the sea's is her happy place.
After 3 spectacular seasons and many happy charter guests she is very much looking forward to another amazing Med season onboard Calypso.

Nationality: New Zealand
Growing up on the beaches of the southern most part of Aotearoa, Mikayla has always had a love for the ocean.
After high school she went to university and earned a bachelor's degree in Primary School teaching.
Once qualified Mikayla made the move to London and taught there for 2 years whilst also exploring this side of the world.
Upon returning home to New Zealand she decided to follow her passion and love for being on the water and joined the yachting industry in 2022.
This is her second season on Calypso and is the person behind all of the socials and editing guest videos!
She spends her time in the off season travelling and making trips home to visit friends and family.
